Richard is a freelance musical director, vocal coach, composer and improviser. His work as an improviser includes: Mischief Movie Night (Arts Theatre, Vaudeville Theatre, Linbury Theatre, The Other Palace and Regents Park Theatre amongst others, nominated for Best New Comedy at the Olivier awards), the Comedy Store Players (on tour and in London), Paul Merton and Suki Webster’s Improv Show (on tour and in London), Shoot From The Hip (Leicester Square Theatre), and Austentatious (on tour and in their West End residency). MD credits include: Hadestown (Lyric Theatre - cover MD), the All Male Pirates of Penzance (Palace Theatre and Wilton's Music Hall), the All Male Iolanthe and The Mikado (UK tours), Secret Garden (Ambassadors Theatre), Finian’s Rainbow (Charing Cross Theatre), Brooklyn (Greenwich Theatre), and several runs of NewsRevue (Canal Café Theatre and Edinburgh Pleasance). Composition credits include: the Olivier-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Good Luck Studio (Mercury Theatre, Colchester), additional music for Mind Mangler (Apollo Theatre), the new musicals Tasting Notes (Southwark Playhouse) and Hangover Square (54 Below in New York and Hope Theatre, Islington).
